Lavender Lounge started with a whispered conversation in the
Golden Lion, one bright August day in 1612. Elizabeth Device, Alice Nutter and Anne Whittle wanted to give something back
to the ladies of Lancaster who had been so hospitable since their arrival from the wild fringes of Pendle Hill. They thought
an evening of cabaret and fun might be just the tonic. Unfortunately, they never lived to see their dream fulfilled as they
were promptly taken from the pub and hung. Their spirit lived on and only a few brief centuries later Lavender Lounge was
born in a flurry of flurriness.

Our Members
Our members include many famous, beautiful and influential women. Most of them lesbians (but not
exclusively). They ask not to be publically named here as they don't want to discourage ordinary folks from becoming part
of the Lavender Lounge family.

Anne Widdecombe is not involved in Lavender Lounge. She begs but we won't let her.
